Texas Training Schedule

Here's a peek into Mary Beth's week in Texas:

Monday
We arrived at about 2:30. See last post for some details. After we left there was a mixer prior to the opening worship session. Ron Luce, founder of Teen Mania Ministries, spoke to the missionaries. They all participated in worship.

Tuesday
Missionaries opened the day with worship and quiet time. They received information on the expectations for the trip and each team introduced itself. Emily reports that team Uganda had the best cheer, and I believe her! They also participated in some skits and learned some dramas. They spent the rest of the day learning their ministry tools, which will partly be the in-school abstinence awareness program. The rest is Bible school and drama as well as evangelism.

We did get a late night call from Mary Beth, doing well, but bug-bitten (as are David and I!) and tired. She said that she slept soundly and well Monday night, a testimony to hard work and well-earned rest!

Wednesday
Today was evangelism training, testimony training, ministry site overview, and country meeting time. Tonight they had a little free time to shower and pack, prior to dinner and worship. Right about now they're in a commissioning time and then it'll be lights out for the last night there. Hopefully we'll hear from her shortly.

Thursday
Travel to Houston, TX, for flight to Dubai in the evening. This flight is 14 hours, 55 minutes. She'll get to spend the night Friday in a hotel in Dubai. On Saturday, they'll leave Dubai for Entebbe, a 7 hour, 20 minute flight. We hope to hear from her between 6 and 8 a.m. Saturday morning (check the post it on the blog for the time change).

Keep those prayers coming! Traveling brings its own challenges. God bless you all!
